Early June weddings in Michigan are some of my favorites because I can start to use locally grown flowers. Laura’s bouquet was filled with local peonies, as well as astilbe, garden roses, spray roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus and eucalyptus. She wanted an elegant, vintage feel for her day and the flowers certainly helped capture that.
The City Flats Ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids was a perfect venue for their reception. As you arrived at the first landing of their grand stairway, picture frames adorned the table to greet guests. Tables dressed in pink linens, pink lighting and gold accents brought the place alive. Three different styles for the table decorations all incorporated the elegant, vintage vibe for their wedding. Tall, armless gold stemmed candelabras as well as shorter candelabras with the candle arms were filled with hydrangeas, roses and some peonies. Beautiful gold candle lanterns surrounded by a garland of greenery and fresh blossoms adorned the remaining tables.
