Cody and Lauren were wed in the nearly 150 year old, historic St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Grand Rapids’ West side. The beautiful architecture stands alone but we added elegant pew bouquets of blush pink hydrangeas, dendrobium orchids and lisianthus.
Late summer is the perfect time for the fresh crop of dahlias and they were the star of her bouquet, along with roses, lisianthus, astilbe and a pop of rich succulents and assorted greenery. Her bridesmaids bouquets were similar in style and color.
The reception was held at the beautiful Hydrangea Blu in Rockford so the pew bouquets doubled as decoration there, also. They hung on the fence posts, seating sign and whiskey barrels. A loosely laid garland of greenery lined the head table while mason jars on wood slabs and wooden boxes filled with fresh blooms were the focal point of the guest tables. Adding a living kissing ball made of succulents to the ladders at Hydrangea Blu is an interesting detail that will be taken home as a special memory of their day.
